- Select a Tool — choose what you're generating: Job Report (free), Estimate, Invoice, Inspection, Contract, Change Order, or any other module.
- Job Details + Knowledge Engine — describe the work. The built-in Knowledge Engine (select your trade → category → issue) auto-fills technical descriptions so you're not typing from scratch.
- Before & After Photos — attach photos directly from your phone camera. They embed into the PDF.
- Materials Used — add parts with quantity and unit cost. Running total calculated automatically.
- Signatures — customer signs on-screen, you sign on-screen. Both signatures lock into the generated PDF.
- Preview & Save — review the full PDF, then save to your phone or share via text/email directly from the app.
The whole flow takes 5–10 minutes. The output is a professional-looking PDF with your company name, license number, and branding — not a handwritten receipt on a crumpled work order form.

How to get it on your phone
Tradesman Toolbox is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — that means you install it from your browser with no app store required.
- Open tradesmanplaybook.com/toolbox/ in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone)
- Android: tap the ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen. iPhone: tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
- The app icon appears on your home screen. Tap to open — it works offline from that point.
- Go to Settings first — enter your company name, license number, and contact info. These auto-populate every PDF you generate.
The entire app runs on your phone without connecting to any server. Your customer data, job records, and photos stay on your device.
